Sparks Fly Between Satan and 2020 In New Match Ad From Ryan Reynolds [VIDEO]
If you have wondered (like a lot of people), what in the hell happened in the universe to cause this year to be such a crap show- stop wondering. It turns out 11 months ago Satan and 2020 hooked up via Match.com - yes a match truly made in hell.
We know this thanks to a commercial created by actor Ryan Reynolds and his production company, Maximum Effort. A spokesperson for the company, Ayesha Gilarde, had this to say about the hilarious spot,
“Ryan and the team at Maximum Effort created a story that speaks to this hellish year, while acknowledging the incredible resilience of singles. We can’t wait for the love stories of 2021.”
The spot opens with Satan getting a 'match' notification on his phone. From there we see Satan meeting up with a girl under a bridge, he asks nervously 'Two-zero-two-zero?' The woman replies 'Call me 2020'. Oh brother.
From there the pair reek havoc all over town. You see the new lovebirds working out in a closed gym, sitting in an empty movie theater, and stealing toilet paper. The commercial ends with the pair standing in front of a burning dumpster. If this isn't 2020 in a nutshell, I don't know what is.
Obviously when the ball drops on New Years Eve, and we say hello to 2021 - things are not going to magically get better in an instant. That being said, I hope they don't get any worse, and I certainly hope Satan and 2020 do not get married in the new year either.
