They tried not to do it. They tried with all their might. But in the end, Swartz Creek Superintendent of Schools Ben Mainka and high school Principal Jim Kitchen just weren't able to resist the urge to create a ridiculous snow-day song.

"I know that one of the things that's been happening which is an epidemic across our country," Mainka explains, "is that superintendents and other school administrators are coming up with ridiculous songs and they're playing music, and putting sunglasses on, and making absolute fools of themselves trying to cancel school for a snow day."

They call it ridiculous, we call it awesome!

"Wait, wait, wait," Mr. Kitchen interrupts as Mainka breaks into song. "Let me reiterate, we are not going to humiliate ourselves by singing a snow-day song." But at this point, it was too late. Superintendent Mainka was overcome by song, singing about Swartz Creek's next day off of school to the tune of 'Hallelujah.'

"It's a snow day, a winter cold day,

Stay home and just play, it's a great family day!"
