If you, like me, didn’t have 90 minutes to spare this past Sunday to find out what kind of confusion Westworld Season 2 would end on, you probably spent the next day dodging spoilers. It’s times like these where the “mute” option on Twitter is a busy movie and TV fan’s best friend...
In the Golden Age of television — or Peak TV, or “oh god, please stop, I have enough to watch already” — shows aren’t just more cinematic, they’re offering us more of everything. That includes more sex scenes, which have become increasingly prevalent, revealing, daring and yes, even artful, reinforcing the notion that TV has become more like film. There may be a good, sexy reason for the former, as new insight from sound designer Paula Fairfield reveals that Drogon’s cries around Daenerys may have a more … uh, “sensual” source in nature.
Game of Thrones Season 6 has come and gone, long-since making moot any questions of George R.R. Martin speeding out The Winds of Winter to avoid spoilers, but there may at last be hope in sight. Another reported leak places Winds of Winter with an early 2017 release, at least beating Season 7 to the punch.
