Syfy’s Sharknado has taken us around the world and into space, so there’s one way this had to end. New reports suggest the absurd and beloved franchise is chomping its teeth to a close, and will travel through time for its ultimate end.

TV viewers are no stranger to bleeped swear words in their favorite shows, but there’s always a double-take when F-bombs slip past the censors. It may now be intentional, as USA and Syfy are relaxing language standards on mature series – the sign of a coming trend.

Ah, to live in a world where the Trump presidency’s biggest disaster was a Sharknado. It almost happened, as the Apprentice host very nearly played the second sequel’s president, and – in true Trump fashion – threatened to sue when producers rescinded the offer.

Horror anthology seems to be all the rage these days, and where TNT failed with a Shyamalan-curated horror block, John Carpenter will pick up the slack. The Thing director will develop Tales for a Halloween Night at Syfy as part of an overall Universal deal to develop new series.

It only took two years, but the worm has finally turned. Syfy has given an official pilot order to a Kevin Bacon-fronted Tremors TV series, continuing the 1990 film legacy that spawned four direct-to-video sequels and a prior TV series.

Let’s face it, “From the author of Game of Thrones” is going to get feet through the door, regardless of whether George R.R. Martin is actually involved. That’s what Syfy’s counting on for its adaptation of Martin’s Nightflyers, a decidedly more space-faring odyssey that now has its very own pilot order.

The third in the Sharknado franchise (a real phrase I just typed) already took us to space, so how might The 4th Awakens top it? Anything you can imagine, whether fire-nados, cow-nados, Chippendales dancers crotch-thrusting sharks to the ground, and of course, giant chainsaws and mech suits. Don’t believe us? At this rate, the world’s about ready for a new Sharknado to liven up our national turmoil, and Syfy is only-too-happy to oblige. Looks like the sharks are taking aim at Las Vegas (and maybe even Wolverine?) in the first official footage from Syfy’s Sharknado: The 4th Awakens.

Because you asked for it, pleaded for it, mailed millions of pounds of chum to your local congressman for it, Sharknado is back and headed to Washington D.C. for a second sequel. The first trailer from Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! has arrived, and yes, a shark lands on the Lincoln Memorial.

In the grand tradition of 'The Godfather,' 'Star Wars' and 'Back to the Future,' Syfy ordered a 'Sharknado 3' because you just can't do an epic proper justice unless you make it into a trilogy, thus cementing (or forcefully trying to demand by default) its proper place in classic cinema.
