The Ally Challenge Still Raising Money for Charity this Weekend
Even though the tournament is being played without fans, the Ally Challenge is still raising money for charity.
This year has been one big let down after another. Amidst the coronavirus pandemic, not many things have been the same in 2020, however, the Ally Challenge is still trying to raise money for charity. Last year, the Banana Crew was set up to broadcast live from the 17th hole at Warwick Hills and it was a blast. Sadly, that is not happening this year as the tournament is being played without fans.
That isn't stopping tournament officials from raising as much money for charity as possible. Yesterday, during the pro-am, all the players were given a chance to chip a ball at an Ally logoed target. For every ball that landed in the center, $1,000 was donated to the United Way. Also, during tournament play on Saturday, Ally will be donating $10,000 for every tee shot from #17 that lands within 10 feet of the hole! Let's hope all the golfers are keyed in and on target tomorrow.
Fans are also able to get in on the charity action this weekend as well. Currently, the "Rise to the Challenge - Charity Auction" is giving fans the opportunity to raise money through bidding on some great items. Some of those items include:
- A 2021 Ally Challenge Experience
- 2021 NASCAR Hot Passes at MIS
- Four Detroit Lions Club Seats
- 2022 Presidents Cup Experience for Two
- An Autographed Matthew Stafford Football
- Signed memorabilia from your favorite pro golfers, and more
Even though fans can't attend in person, you can still catch the action on The Golf Channel over the next three days:
- Friday, July 31st from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm
- Saturday, August 1st from 2 pm until 4:30 pm
- Sunday, August 2nd from 3 pm until 5 pm
