These are the 10 Most Dangerous Cities and Towns in Michigan
Detroit has always had a reputation for being a dangerous city, but unfortunately, it's not the only city in our great state whose residents should keep their doors locked at all times.

The website Road Snacks crunched the data, taking into account the number of violent crimes like murders, rapes, carjackings, and, armed robberies as well as the number of crimes against properties. Data from the recently-released 2020 'Crime in the United States' report issued by the Federal Bureau of Investigation was used to compile the numbers.
Only cities and townships with a population of 5,000 people were included in the rankings. For the purpose of this ranking, only 219 of Michigan's cities and townships met the population criteria to be considered for the ranking.

SPOILER ALERT: Before we get to the cities and towns on the list, it's interesting to note that Detroit is not ranked as the number one most-dangerous city on the list. The Motor City certainly ranks in the Top 10, but it's topped by a few others, including Benton Township - a neighbor to Benton Harbor. Those areas have recently been plagued by a water supply system that's contaminated with lead, much like the tainted water supply that's been the source of Flint's ongoing water crisis.
