More Women Come Forward Against T.J. Miller, as Comedy Central Cancels ‘Gorburger’
Now that comedian T.J. Miller has been formally accused of sexual assault, additional women are stepping up to share their experiences. Both an adult film star, and transgender film critic reveal damning encounters with the Silicon Valley star, while Comedy Central cancels Miller’s alien puppet series, The Gorburger Show.
Yesterday saw an unnamed woman from Miller’s college years attesting that he’d committed numerous acts of violent sexual assault over the course of their relationship, some of which had been investigated in student court at George Washington University. Both Miller and his wife, Kate, issued a statement slamming the allegations, though several others have begun speaking out as well. First, adult film star Dana DeArmond noted over Twitter that “I was harassed by both Tj Miller and the director Jordan Vogt-Roberts shooting for Comedy Central’s Mash Up. I’ve been saying Tj was an a–hole for years.” Additionally, film critic and trans woman Danielle Solzman confirmed that a transphobic email shared in response to her Emoji Movie review was indeed from Miller:
We won’t share the letter’s full contents, but Miller refers to Solzman as a “weird strange terrible man,” and claims “If you bothered to look into anything that I’ve ever done you would find in not only have I had sex with transgender people, but I have donated widely to organizations that support their freedom” (h/t Vulture). As allegations continue to mount, Comedy Central also confirmed that it would not move forward with additional episodes of Miller’s The Gorburger Show, though reps claim the decision was made prior to any claims against the actor.
Many have noted that Miller’s behavior was an open secret in comedy circles, akin to Louis C.K.’s abuse of numerous women, so stay tuned for the latest on any other project changes.
