I will be completely honest, throughout my school years I did have teachers I absolutely loved, and some not so much. I am sure most of you feel the same way. I remember some teachers being so positive and encouraging, and others putting me to the wayside and labeling me as a lost cause. I don't blame those teachers entirely, I was a smart ass student more often than not.

When I was in third grade I remember begging my mom to let me stay home from school forever. I was convinced that my teacher, Mrs. Lane, hated me. My mom did not let me stay home. She drove me straight to the school, and confronted Mrs. Lane. My mom asked her point blank if she hated me. Of course she said no. To this day I still think she did.

My very favorite teacher was my fifth grade teacher Mr. Harris. He was super fun, and I remember him being so kind to the whole class. We made time capsules in his class, with the plan being to go back and get them when we were seniors. I did not get mine, I really wish I would have. It would have been cool to see what I put in the box, and what I wrote about myself as a fifth grader.

I had to attend summer school for a few years. For some reason I excelled there. My teacher let me work ahead, so I had finished all of the assignments well before the end of the summer. My teacher told me just to bring in a pillow and sleep each day. That did not go over well with my mom. She marched right into the school and told the teacher to give me more work. He did. Ugh.

Feel free to share the names of some of your favorite teachers with me, and why you remember them still to this day. Now that I look back, I know it is not an easy job to say the least. Thank you teachers, and I am sorry (kind of) that I always talked so much in class.
