Merry Christmas! In a very nonchalant but well-received tweet, Trent Reznor revealed there are plans for new Nine Inch Nails material in the coming year. He also promised alluring albeit mysterious “other stuff, too.”

Perhaps a new NIN album will finally land the band that coveted spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for which they were just overlooked again.

Nine Inch Nails released their last full-length Hesitation Marks in 2013. Since then, Reznor has continued to churn out celebrated movie soundtracks, including the score for last year’s Gone Girl. Reznor was a stakeholder in Beats’ music-streaming service and has maintained that role since it changed ownership to Apple and relaunched as Apple Music in June.

NIN have also recently reissued a bunch of old merch and music. Last month, the band brought out T-shirts, posters and wall décor from the vaults, some of which dated back to their 1989 debut Pretty Hate Machine, just in time for Black Friday. They also reissued the 1989 album in a special-edition box set for Record Store Day Black Friday.
