The Courtney Love fronted Hole played a show in New York in 2010, but nobody paid the sound guy hired to record the show. Bad move. Now he has uploaded Love's isolated vocal and guitar tracks that put the "Hole" in "Holy s--t that is the worst thing I've ever heard!"

Apparently this story broke back in early September, but if I missed it -- I'm sure a few of you did as well. I've seen a lot of live shows, but this is by far the worst example of "guitar playing" I've ever heard. I'm still not 100% on whether this is an authentic recording, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that it is. Either way... ouch. If her guitar playing is really that bad live -- she should not be doing it. It's just more out of tune noise for her band to cover up.

The sound guy included this explanation with the YouTube video:

"Hole performing Celebrity Skin live at Don Hill's in NYC, Sept. 11, 2010.

I was hired through the venue to record this show (including many others throughout that week) and was then left standing with a hard drive and an invoice no one seemed to want. Four years later I still have the files and not really any idea what to do with them. But I like to share. So here we are.

What you are hearing are just Courtney's isolated vocal and guitar mics (with the obvious bleed from the rest of the band). I've muted everything else ... To address the most obvious, inevitable question that I will be asked...this is not fake. Whether you think she's the worst or this just makes her all the more "punk rock" is for you to decide. I'm merely presenting the facts as they are. Make of them what you will."

He also provided several links to backup the authenticity of the clip, including one to the video below with the audio mix of the full band during the same performance.
