Voluntary Tornado Drill to Take Place in Michigan on Wednesday
Michigan officials are planning for a voluntary tornado drill this Wednesday and encourage all to take place.
It's never a bad thing to be prepared for severe weather. Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has made this week "Severe Weather Awareness Week" throughout Michigan. This awareness week will run through Saturday.
On Wednesday, officials are encouraging residents, businesses, and other organizations to take part in the drill. The tornado drill itself will be at 1 pm. It would be a good time for your family or business to go over or make plans for extreme weather including escape plans, preparing emergency kits, and anything else you would need to survive a terrible situation like this. If you're looking for more information on the drill or how to prepare, you can visit the Michigan State Police's Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division website here.
If you are anything like me, you are already prepared with a bug out bag for when the zombie apocalypse starts and the world starts to crumble, but it never hurts to look at other ideas.
