Michigan Wendy’s Closures – Are More On The Way?
Wendy's has closed several Michigan locations.
The closures do not come as a surprise. In November, Wendy's announced plans to close 140 underperforming locations nationwide. Fast forward to December 2024, and plans include 10 Michigan Wendy's locations and counting.
If you are in the Genesee County or Lapeer County areas, you are marked safe as of now. Wendy's still has operating locations in Swartz Creek, Lapeer, Flint, Swartz Creek, and Burton. To see all operating Michigan Wendy's locations, click here.
To be clear, Wendy's has not officially announced closing the following Michigan restaurants, however, according to the Detroit Free Press, these locations have been removed from the company website.
- Brighton (Lee Road)
- Coldwater (East Chicago Street)
- Ionia (South State Road)
- Ypsilanti (Washtenaw Avenue)
- Lansing (West Saginaw Highway)
- Novi (Novi Road)
- Belleville (Belleville Road)
- Schoolcraft (North US 131)
- Lansing (Eaton Rapids Road)
- Diamondale (Davis Highway)
Additionally, Wendy's fast-food restaurants in Tecumseh, Michigan, and Adrian, Michigan have been confirmed closed.

I feel bad for all the employees who lost their jobs, it is never easy, especially during the holiday season. Hopefully, if willing, some can relocate to other Wendy's locations.
Unfortunately, this may not be the end of the closures. We will keep you posted on any additional information.
What are your thoughts on this? Do you think this is only the beginning, not only for Wendy's, but, other Michigan fast-food restaurants too?
