Wes Scantlin’s Wife Wants Prenup Thrown Out In Divorce

Puddle of Mudd singer Wes Scantlin's luck continues to head south as his soon to be ex-wife Jessica Nicole Scantlin is attempting to have their pre-nuptial agreement thrown out of the divorce hearings.

Clearly not take a queue from Russel Brand, who recently denied his right to over $20 million in his divorce from Katy Perry, Jessica Nicole Scantlin is fighting for more than her prenuptial agreement would allow. TMZ reports that Jessica is claiming Wes coerced her into signing the premarital contract prior to their 2008 wedding. She alleges he knew that she would sign it due to the financial commitments her parents had already invested in their ceremony.

Now Jessica believes she is entitled to money from the songs Wes wrote since they've been together because she inspired several of them -- something Wes himself has said in the past. Jessica and her attorney are asking that the court void the contract and award her "one-half interest of all past, present, and future revenues" from Wes' stake in Puddle of Mudd's music.

This is not the first sign of trouble for Scantlin of late. It was just uncovered that he was arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance last month in California -- the state he owes over $17,000 in back taxes to, with an $44, 726.23 due to federal government. Despite what Chad Kroeger tells you, being a rock star isn't all private jets and quesadillas.
