In a post on all of their social media accounts, Metallica shared an ominous video full of lightning and clouds with the message, "Our friends at Mercedes-Benz USA are cooking up something electric for the Peach Bowl halftime show. We'll be watching... ⚡️👀."

Included in the post is the hashtag #PortalToPeachBowl.

See the video in the tweet below:

Kirk Hammett has also shared a video that will likely leave fans with even more questions, as you can see below:

The Peach Bowl is scheduled for tonight, Dec. 31, 2022, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. This is the 55th annual Peach Bowl and it serves as a playoff game as the college football season nears its end. The No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes take on the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs; kickoff is set for 8PM ET.

Not surprisingly, fans are reacting to the mysterious message on Metallica's fan club forums. Some fans are speculating that Metallica will be debuting a new song, but nobody seems to think Metallica will actually be performing at the halftime show. One fan called out the fact that Lars Ulrich recently posted a photo of him skiing on Instagram.

Regardless, it's clear that Metallica will have some sort of connection to the halftime show. What do you think will happen? Hit us up in our app and share your thoughts.
