Why Does it Seem Like Michigan Drivers Are Worse Than Ever?
For whatever reason, Michigan drivers seem crazier than ever behind the wheel lately.
Distracted driving is no doubt at an all time high. Michigan drivers just can't put their phones away when behind the wheel. A lot of times what I think is a drunk driver turns out to be someone on their stupid phone.
It also feels like some people have zero patience with other drivers. It's like everyone is in a big hurry and won't tolerate others that get in their way.
The other day I was driving down Center Road right in front of the Burton Police station when I watched a woman use the center turn lane to pass two vehicles. She got in the center lane and passed them like it was no big deal. I will add that she did this while talking on the phone. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
The very next day, I was at the four-way stop at Bristol and Irish and a guy flew through the stop sign. He didn't slow down one bit. I know it wasn't an accident because he literally flipped everybody off as he zipped through. My jaw hit the floor. I was like, what just happened?
Those are just a couple of many examples that got me thinking. Why is this happening so often lately? Why are people so inconsiderate and angry? What the heck is going on?
