Why You Should Care About UConn’s Record

Last night, in definitive fashion, the Lady Huskies won their 89th consecutive game, setting a new standard when it comes to win streaks.  No team in history has won this many games in a row, and regardless of what you think of women's basketball, it's pretty impressive.  Honestly, think back to the prime of your athletic career.  What's the biggest streak your team ever went on?  My Little League team went undefeated one year, but we lost in the championship game.  Keeping a winning streak going is tough enough in Jenga, let alone Division 1 Athletics.

And don't tell me about how it's not as impressive as UCLA's 88 wins because it's women.   I agree 10o percent men's basketball is 100 times better.  But that doesn't negate the accomplishment of UConn's women.  Win any competition 89 times in a row, and then you can talk.
