K-9 Officer Ice made headlines for allegedly eating a fellow police officer's lunch in January. According to the Wyandotte Police Department Facebook page, this is what happened,

'Officer Barwig was eating lunch in the breakroom when he was called to assist with a person in the WPD jail. He quickly jumped into service, leaving his half eaten lunch on the table. A short while later Barwig and another officer returned to the breakroom only to find Ofc. Ice leisurely strolling out of the room licking his chops. Barwig's entire lunch was gone....disappeared, vanished!'

The police department took the joke even further by posting a mugshot of Detective Ice. The internet went crazy over the picture, and since then the Wyandotte Police Department and Officer Ice have received national attention.

After the incident, Officer Ice invoked his fifth amendment right and apparently is not cooperating with the investigation. However, a handful of attorneys did indeed offer to defend Ice.

After over 26,000 people came to the canine's defense on social media (see posts below), all charges have since been dropped against Detective Ice and he will not be facing any jail time for the alleged lunch stealing. I am glad his fellow officers were not too ruff on him (wah wah).

It appears Officer Ice has a lot of new best friends. Enjoy the original Facebook posts and video below for more on this fun-loving story.
