The Lions announced that there would not be any fans at their first two home games, but that doesn't mean you can't look like you're there.

If you've watched any major league baseball games, you've noticed the huge cardboard fan cutouts that are in the first few rows of seats. The Lions have put together a program where fans can purchase their own fan cutout seats. The best part is that some of the money raised will go toward Detroit Lions Charities.

The charities that will benefit from the cutout proceeds are Detroit Lions Charities, Game On Cancer, and Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors. If you want to get your cutout at one of the home games, you had better hurry. The cutouts are sold on a limited, first come first serve basis, and must be purchased by September 7th for the home opener..

The Lions are also giving you the chance to sit next to Barry Sanders for one of the games. Well, you're not going to be sitting next to him, but your cardboard cutout will be sitting next to his cardboard cutout . . . . so same thing basically. There are a few rules when you sort of sit next to Barry though.

  • Only one fan cutout per game will have the opportunity to sit with Barry Sanders
  • Your cutout and Barry Sanders will watch the game from exclusive seats above the tunnel
  • A photo of your cutout next to Barry Sanders' at the game you purchase will be taken and autographed by Barry Sanders then mailed to you
  • Purchase this one game option for $1,000. Cutout will also remain in the stadium all other games.
  • Option is available to purchase when you select the "Entire 2020 Season" option

You can get all of the cutout info, and purchase your own fan cutout from the Detroit Lions here.

The Lions are hoping to have real fans back in the stands by November 1st, but there is no way to know if that will actually happen. One thing we do know is that the Lions have had a great training camp, especially Mathew Stafford. One of the highlights is Stafford throwing a 60 yard effortless bomb that went viral this week. Check it out below.
