Joining Slipknot percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan in the cast of 'The Devil's Carnival' -- Darren Lynn Bousman's sequel to the hard rock/horror musical 'Repo: The Genetic Opera' -- is Five Finger Death Punch vocalist Ivan Moody.

'The Devil's Carnival' may sound like a musical by way of Rob Zombie, but is actually from the man who wrote and directed 'Saw 2' and directed the two following installments -- Darren Lynn Bousman. His first outing in the musical genre was the 2006 10-minute short film 'Repo: The Genetic Opera,' which Bousman expanded to a full length feature  two years later.

Given that the sequel is a hard rock musical, the producers have added some pedigree with the casting of well-known metal artists Shawn "Clown" Crahan (Slipknot) and Ivan Moody (Five Finger Death Punch). The official plot synopsis (via Artist Direct) offers more details about Moody's involvement in the project:

'The Devil’s Carnival' is a fantasy/horror/musical about an amusement park run by the devil himself. The film stars Paul Sorvino, Alexa Vega, and Sean Patrick Flanery, as well as rock icons Ogre (Skinny Puppy), M. Shawn "Clown" Crahan (Slipknot), Emilie Autumn, and Ivan Moody (Five Finger Death Punch). Moody plays the charming yet doomful character of Hobo Clown. For some spare change, he’ll spin you a story, but you may not like the tale’s outcome.

Clown recently detailed his role in the project, teasing "I play a character called The Tamer. And let me tell you, there is a little Tamer in all of us.” The film has no release date as of yet, but you can check out an 11-minute preview of 'The Devil's Carnival' below.
