Of the 40 Most Popular Grocery Stores, Michigan Has Very Few of Them
Grocery shopping options are pretty limited when it comes to store options.
For anyone who has ever traveled to a different state in the country, there are always different grocery stores to check out that you don't normally see. Some are bigger and better and others and some you may never want to shop in again.
Stacker.com has ranked the 40 most popular grocery stores in the nation based on consumer ratings. After tabulating polls from YouGov, the list below is ranked in popularity. You will also see each store's fame rating as well.
When I first began scrolling the list, I was very surprised. I didn't even recognize a good chunk of these, to be honest. And when it comes to Michigan, we only have a handful of these grocery stores. However, I would love to see some of them open locations in our state. I think Michigan could benefit from having a Piggly Wiggly even if it just to say that you're going to Piggly Wiggly. It's the little things in life.

I was also surprised by a couple that made the list under the term grocery store. Some of them, like Circle K, are not what I think of when I think of grocery stores. According to Wikipedia, a grocery store is defined as "a store that sells food and household supplies." That, in turn, makes the number one spot even more "strange."

Total side note, I shopped at a Food Lion (ranked #17 on this list) during my latest vacation to South Carolina...not impressed. I would rather see Michigan open a Piggly Wiggly or Wegmans.
