A Perfect Circle Announce New Album ‘Eat The Elephant’ + Release New Song
After months of speculation about when A Perfect Circle's next album was coming, the band have finally announced Eat the Elephant, set to come out April 20. In addition to the new record, the band has also dropped another single from the disc, "TalkTalk," which comes in the form of a strange new visualization.
"TalkTalk" is a much moodier song than the songs that APC has released thus far -- "Disillusioned" and "The Doomed." The lyrics point towards Maynard James Keenan going through some religious turmoil, while guitars offer a washed out heaviness. Pianos intersect, letting the song be bare before things ramp back up to a full speed.
“Although I’m extremely excited to finally be completing this album after a 14-year hiatus,” explains Keenan in a statement, “I’m actually more excited that its intentional release date is serving a greater purpose. The 20th of April is Carina Round’s birthday. She is a dear friend who is extremely difficult to shop for. Pressure off. Of course, I must also note that the potheads are gonna be thrilled that this album comes out on 4-20. May it serve as a glorious soundtrack to accompany all of the giggling and vexing sounds of nibbling and snacking. Fingers crossed, Cheech & Chong will be proud.”
There's two album covers, both which can be seen here for the pre-order. The album is coming out digitally, and on physical media including a special edition boxset.
