AMC Theatres To Reopen Many Locations Nationwide By July 15th
Those who have been waiting to get back to see movies on the big screen will not have to wait much longer.
AMC Theatres has announced that the theatre chain will resume operations at 450 locations on July 15th. The remaining 150 locations will reopen by July 24th. To coincide with the reopening AMC is launching a comprehensive health and sanitation program called 'AMC Safe & Clean.' The theatre chain has been working with current and former faculty members of the School of Public Health at Harvard University and The Clorox Company.
Some of the changes and protocols that will come into play at AMC Theatres nationwide include ways to maintain social distancing and keep the theatres clean. In the first phase of reopening, seating capacity in the theatres will be limited to 30% of the normal capacity and AMC will block out every other row of seats in non-recliner auditoriums.
Other safety procedures include:
- Each auditorium will be cleaned thoroughly between each movie.
- All theatre associates are required to wear masks while in the theatre.
- Contactless ticketing is available and strongly recommended.
- Menu selections have been reduced and more.
AMC has 17 theatre locations in Michigan including Auburn Hills, Saginaw, Woodhaven, Livonia, Kalamazoo, Sterling Heights, Madison Heights, Clinton Township, Holland, Walker, Dearborn, Alpena, Big Rapids, Fort Gratiot, Jackson, Ludington, and Traverse City.
In just under a month, you'll be able to take the family back to the theatres to see a movie on the big screen. For complete details on their cleaning procedures and safety precautions, click here.
