Metallica have announced that anyone holding a ticket to a gig on their current "WorldWired" tour can scan the ticket stub to receive a free MP3 download of the show.

But concertgoers must have their ticket in hand in order to scan the barcode, so Metallica are urging fans to hold onto their stubs.

“As we like to do, all shows will be recorded and available in a variety of downloadable formats, as well as on CD, within a few days of us walking off the stage," the band said in a statement. "Each show is mixed and mastered by the team behind Hardwired...To Self-Destruct to bring you the best possible audio quality. Hold on to that ticket stub after the show and head over to LiveMetallica.com/scan to scan or enter the barcode from your ticket to download your show.”

In addition to plugging the current run of their North American WorldWired tour to promote 2016's Hardwired... to Self-Destruct Metallica are starting to promote the reissue of 1988's ...And Justice For All, their last complex thrash album before "The Black Album."

In a short Twitter video, Metallica shows the album being created on the production line. There are also shots of the box set packaging. There is still no release date for the set.
