Beastie Boys’ MCA Still Has Cancer

In the past week various news outlets have been reporting that Beastie Boy Adam Yauch is cancer-free. MCA appreciates it but he's not out of the woods yet.

In a group email to the Beasties' mailing list, Yauch had this to say about his current condition:

"While I'm grateful for all the positive energy people are sending my way, reports of my being totally cancer free are exaggerated...I'm continuing treatment, staying optimistic and hoping to be cancer free in the near future."

MCA was diagnosed with having a cancerous parotid gland and lymph node in July of '09. The upcoming album Hot Sauce Commitee Part 1 was then delayed and their tour was cancelled as well. Recently the band has announced that Hot Sauce Commitee Part 2 would be out this spring. So what happened to Part 1? It's been delayed indefinitely for reasons that are unclear. I'm sure we'll all figure it out sooner or later.
