Well…that didn’t last long.

It looks like the Big Chicken location in Clio has shut down. Rumors have been all over social media the past few days, with people asking the same thing…did it close?

Now add this to it. The Clio location is currently listed as “permanently closed” on Google, which usually doesn’t happen unless something legit is going on behind the scenes. At this point, it’s looking more and more like this place is done for good.

Big Chicken in Clio Now Listed as Permanently Closed

We first told you back in late 2023 that Big Chicken was coming to Clio, and when it finally opened in early 2024, it came in with a ton of hype. Backed by Shaquille O’Neal, it was a pretty big deal for the area, especially as the first location of its kind in Michigan.

Fast forward to now, and just over two years later, it looks like it may have quietly shut its doors without any kind of announcement. Now the big question is…what the heck happened?

What Happened to Big Chicken in Clio?

That’s the big question right now.

There hasn’t been any official word on why it closed, or if there’s any chance this is temporary. Sometimes places shut down for staffing or other issues, but when you see that “permanently closed” tag, it’s usually not a great sign.

At one point, there were plans to open up to 20 locations across Michigan. Right now, it’s unclear if that’s still happening.
