3-Year-Old Boy Dies After Aunt Throws Him Off Pier Into Lake Michigan
A 3-year-old boy is dead after being purposely tossed off a Lake Michigan pier.
The boy was thrown into the water by his aunt who did nothing to save him.
I warn you, what took place will break your heart in two.
What Happened?
The boy was being cared for by his grandmother during the time of the incident. While she was changing her clothes upstairs, the boy's aunt snuck him out of the house.
According to WoodTV, the boy’s aunt, 34-year-old Victoria Moreno originally told police that she was a witness to the incident but eventually admitted that she was his aunt. So, she lied to the police right out of the gate. She then said she was holding his shirt but let go of him after he was acting up and he fell into Lake Michigan.
Apparently, Navy Pier surveillance video showed a different version of the story. The woman was seen throwing the boy into the water and did nothing at all to save him. She literally tossed him into the water on purpose.
How Long Was the Boy in the Water?
The 3-year-old was in the water for 30 minutes before being rescued.
When Did This Happen?
The incident took place on Monday, September 19 at Navy Pier in Chicago. However, the boy didn't pass away until this past Sunday, September 25. That little guy held on for nearly a week before being pronounced dead.
Before his death, the boy had multiple heart attacks and seizures.
According to reports, defense lawyers are saying that the aunt suffers from mental health issues.
Truly a messed-up situation.
Was the Boy's Aunt Charged?
She was originally charged with felony attempted first-degree murder and felony aggravated battery of a child. Obviously, she'll be facing new charges after the boy's passing.
