Burton is a Finalist For The $65 Million GM Investment
The City of Burton is trying very hard to land a $65 million investment from General Motors. They are currently working on the tax incentives to get the deal signed and bring the project to life.
The project is looking to bring a brand new, state of the art parts processing center to the area. As you could imagine, this plant won't be a small one. There are looking at a 140-acre plot of land to put the new facility. That property sits right near the corner of Genesee Road and Davison Road. The property was purchased by Missouri based NorthPoint Development for this project.
If the project comes to live in Burton, crews will begin construction on a 1.1 million square foot warehouse. If all things go well, the project could be completed as early as 2019. While this project could bring a lot of money into the area, some residents are concerned about the long-term effects of the project.
