Wait, was I seriously the last to know something new is finally moving into the old Lowe’s building on Court Street in Burton?

Lowe’s in Burton and Flint Township closed their doors for good back in January of 2019, leaving Genesee County without a single location. Sure, we still had Home Depot, but there was just something about Lowe’s I liked better. The Burton store was always my go-to. It’s all good now—I’ve had plenty of time to get over it and have gracefully accepted Home Depot into my life.

The building has been sitting empty for six years but finally that is about to change as something new is moving in.

The reason I asked if I was the last to know is because, apparently, word of what’s happening was announced way back in October of 2024. So yeah... I’m only about six months late to the party. However, I don't think I'm the only one.

What’s Finally Going in the Old Lowe’s Building in Burton?

According to an article shared last year by The Davison Index, the former Lowe’s building at 4274 E. Court St. in Burton is set to become the new headquarters for America’s Most Wanted 4x4, a Jeep customization company. The business received approval from the Burton Zoning Board of Appeals to make the move. The company is currently based in Holly.

It’s unclear when AMW will officially move into the 130,000-square-foot building—or if they’ve moved forward with the project at all. It’s been a while since I’ve driven past my old home improvement stomping grounds, so I’m not sure what’s going on over there right now. If you’ve seen any activity, let me know.

These Michigan Restaurants Have All Sadly Closed Since Appearing on National TV

You'd think an appearance on a national TV show like Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives or Restaurant: Impossible would guarantee success for a restaurant.

That hasn't been the case for these six restaurants, all of which have closed after being featured on national television.
