Clio Native Becomes Sixth Woman Full-Time NBA Referee
A former Clio High School woman has made her mark on the NBA.
Jenna Schroeder has become the sixth woman to be hired as a full-time NBA referee. Schroeder, a graduate of Clio High School in the class of 2004, has made another great entry in her impressive basketball career. In high school, she was a two-time All-State selection before moving on to her college career. While attending Saginaw Vallet State University, she led the team in scoring and served as the team captain.
As of yesterday, October 22nd, 2019, she was promoted to a full-time NBA referee. Before the promotion, she was a referee in college, the WNBA, and G League. Schroeder is now the fourth woman on the NBA's current referee roster and the sixth in league history.
Her high school career at Clio High School was nothing short of impressive. She finished high school as the leading scorer with 1,430 points and was a finalist for Michigan's Miss Basketball Award.
