So far, over 2,600 water lines have been replaced in Flint, with a goal of nearly 20,000.

According to ABC12, crews with Goyette Mechanical, one of four contractors working to replace the lines, says they are ahead of schedule.

"We will be completed with the list of addresses that we received from the city of Flint sometime in September. Our drop dead completion date is Nov. 1 for this project," said Goyette Mechanical's Joe Parks.

It's so good to hear something positive when it comes to anything that deals with Flint's water issues. A couple of the reasons that Goyette is ahead of schedule is because of nice weather and resident cooperation. I don't know why residents wouldn't want to cooperate with something that is desperately needed.
