The NFL released their schedule for the 2024-25 regular season Wednesday night at 8 pm. Each team rolled out videos for to announce their individual schedules on social media.

The Detroit Lions used Detroit-native comedians Sam Richardson and Tim Robinson from their hit shows Detroiters and I Think You Should Leave to release their schedule for the season.

Without a doubt, the Lions have one of the more challenging schedules come the 2024 season. However, the Lions made it further than they ever had in my lifetime back in January, falling 34-31 to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship.

With the Lions coming off of their most successful season in over three decades, and extending major pieces of their highly rated offense, Detroit fans have a lot to feel good about heading into this season.

As you can see, 2024-25 will be no cakewalk. But the Detroit Lions are finally getting the hype that they deserve with a whopping five prime time games and seven available to national audiences.

The Lions kick things off with a two-game stretch at home, which undoubtedly gives them an advantage in those games. Unfortunately, those games feature two teams that are probably pretty pissed at us right now. The Lions beat the Rams in the Wildcard game, knocking them out of the playoffs, and they beat the Bucs in the Divisional Round after that.

Not only that, but former-Detroit and current-LA Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is certainly not our biggest fan. His wife Kelly Stafford accused Lions fans of booing her children on her podcast, The Morning After with Kelly Stafford, following the loss. They also were not thrilled by questions directed towards the QB post-loss by Detroit media members.

If all of that isn't enough fuel to the fire, Kelly Stafford's podcast also revealed that she and her husband feel that Lions cornerback Kerby Joseph is a 'dirty' player.

Are you hyped for game one yet? I sure am, though it certainly makes me nervous given all of the lore surrounding it.

The Lions start with tough games, and end with tough games, seeing the 49ers in week 17 on the road.

The good news? In my opinion, the Lions should take the division again this year. Both the Bears and Vikings will be operating with rookie quarterbacks, who will hopefully take some time to settle in. The only team in the division giving me pause is the Green Bay Packers. Unfortunately, Packers QB Jordan Love looks super promising (annoying). Plus, they added safety Xavier McKinney and running back Josh Jacobs who are huge pickups for the Cheeseheads on both sides of the ball.

HOWEVER— Detroit improved in the offseason too. One of their main struggles of the previous season was their secondary. To combat that issue, they've drafted CB Terrion Arnold (Alabama) and acquired CB Carlton Davis from Tampa Bay.

All of that being said, here is my way too early win-loss total for the Detroit Lions.

There you have it; my prediction is 13-4. 14-3 if the refs find a way to hold their bias in Dallas.

Here's how other Lions fans are feeling following the schedule release:

Just saying, I'm booking my "Lions 2025 Super Bowl" tattoo appointment now.
