Detroit Ranks On List Of Top Music Cities In America
Detroit, Michigan made a list of the Top 20 Music Cities in America.
The list was put together by Fifty Grande as part of an ongoing series on music. It makes perfect sense that the home of Motown would make the list.
According to Fifty Grande, the data is based on a survey that was answered and or taken by over 1300 respondents. All parties involved in the survey were required to have listened to live music in the market that they voted on.
As you will see below, there were quite a few ties between cities. Due to that reason, the list of 20 actually starts at #18 with a three-way tie.
So where did Detroit come in on the list of 20 Top Music Cities in America? Detroit comes in at #15, sharing the coveted position with Philidelphia. Yes, one of the many ties on the list.
What a cool list for Detroit to be a part of. The city is rich in music culture and heritage. Did you know that Techno music was birthed in Detroit? According to Sound Of Life, it was started by Atkins, Kevin Saunderson, and Derrick, a trio of DJs known as the Belleville Three.
