Holiday Magic of the Detroit Zoo’s Wild Lights is Back for the Season
The magic of one of the most popular annual holiday events is back at the Detroit Zoo for 2021.
Wild Lights, the Detroit Zoo’s annual holiday light display in its 9th year, will feature more than 5 million twinkling LED lights to entertain families across the state again this holiday season. Visitors to the zoo will enjoy beautiful lights illuminating buildings, 445 trees and 280 sculptures. The event will also be the North American premiere of The Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, showcasing award-winning photography, and is included with Wild Lights admission.
Wild Lights will kick off the weekend of November 20-21, and also take place November 26-28. December and January dates will be;
- December 1-5
- December 8-12
- December 15-23
- December 26-31
- January 2-3
- January 5-9
Tickets are $17-$24 based on the hour and day, with children younger under 2 admitted free; parking is $8.
For those wanting more VIP experience, the "Polar Patio" package, sponsored by KeyBank. The package offers a private dining experience which includes admission to Wild Lights and the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibit, all-you-can-eat food and dessert, hot cocoa in a souvenir cup and access to a cash bar. "Polar Patio" packages range from $30-$38.
Wild Lights is always one of the best Michigan attractions of the season, and tickets usually sell out quickly. Space is limited, so you will want to purchase tickets early. Tickets will not be sold at the gate.
