Michigan Man Threatens School Over Snack Dispute
A Michigan man is facing serious trouble after allegedly threatening to shoot up an Eastpointe elementary school because his child was not given a snack.
David Scott Jr., 43, was arraigned on Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025, after he made the threats to a first-grade teacher at Pleasantview Elementary School.
According to the New York Post, Scott allegedly threatened to 'air the place out' the following day. The phrase is slang for a shoot-up or attack.
As mentioned above, this was all because David Scott Jr. believed his son was not given a snack at snack time.
It turns out, no child was given a snack that day after recess, according to Eastpointe Police Lieutenant Alexander Holish.
By no means was the student singled out. The whole class did not get a snack time.
Scott was arrested within two hours of the alleged threats. His home was raided by authorities, and illegal ammunition was found. Additional charges include the following:
- Disorderly/Obscene Conduct
- Intentional Threat to Commit an Act of Violence at School
- Habitual Offender (previous crimes; drug and weapons related)
David Scott Jr. is due back in court on Wednesday, November 5th, 2025.
As you can see, law enforcement is treating this threat, as well as all threats related to schools, with the utmost seriousness and attention.
From what I understand, Scott remains in custody and has been ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation. If he posts the $150,000 bail, he must wear an ankle monitor and is prohibited from having any contact with anyone at Pleasantview Elementary School.
