If you're a gamer and a student, you're going to love what is coming to UM-Flint later this year.

According to Mid-Michigan Now, University of Michigan-Flint announced plans to introduce esports teams on campus later this year. Games will be played locally and against players around the globe.

For those that don't know, esports (also known as electronic sports) is a form of sport competition using video games. It often takes the form of organized, multiplayer video game competitions, particularly between professional players, individually or as teams.

The esports lab will be located in the UM-Flint Recreation Center according to the University of Michigan-Flint website.

It's expected that students will gain skills such as teamwork, strategic thinking and planning, managing success and failure, and time management.

Maybe this will be enough incentive to make my kid want to attend college after he graduates high school.
