For those of you like me that like a good ole fashion casino weekend, FireKeepers Casino Hotel is hooking us up with more rooms.

The team at FireKeepers broke ground on the site for a second hotel tower on Monday. By late 2020, there will be a lot more to do when you make your way to the casino. They are adding 203 new hotel rooms, 14 suites, a restaurant, more table games, and even a VIP lounge.

This time last year, the hotel was running at about 95% occupancy. Obviously, this cut down on their ability to host larger groups during certain times of the year, thus the need for the new tower. The original casino floor, which holds 2,900 slot machines, 70 table games, poker, and bingo, will be redesigned as well.

I have never been to FireKeepers but plan to make it out soon so I can see the before and after. Which Michigan casinos are your favorites. I normally stick to Detroit and Mt. Pleasant but want to find new places to go.
