It has been 16 years since the infamous incident that changed the Big Game halftime show forever.

Back on February 1st, 2004, the Big Game halftime show changed forever after a performance from Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake. It was Super Bowl XXXVIII as the New England Patriots beat the Carolina Panthers 32 to 29.

As far as the entertainment, it all started just fine as Beyonce stepped to the mic to sing the National Anthem. After the second quarter, the halftime show ended up changing the way things are done forever. I'm sure we all remember what happened at the end of the show. Justin Timberlake removed a part of Janet Jackson's costume to reveal her right breast, which had a large, sun-shaped nipple shield, and the entire country lost their minds.

After the performance, some viewers screamed outrage at this "indecent exposure" claiming it was inappropriate for an event like this. Other viewers were very happy with the show for obvious reasons.

While looking back at this and talking with friends and co-workers about it, not a single person that I have talked to can remember the other performers on the halftime show that year. It was actually a pretty stacked lineup. For those of you that also don't remember, the other performers that were lost in the wake of NippleGate 2004 were Jessica Simpson, P. Diddy, Nelly, and our very own Kid Rock.

Super Bowl LIV will take place this Sunday in Miami as the San Francisco 49ers take on the Kansas City Chiefs and the halftime show will feature Jennifer Lopez and Shakira.
