Flint’s JaVale McGee Offered $50 Million By Denver Nuggets

When you're from Flint, $50 dollars is a lot of money. Now multiply a million by that 50 bucks and you're looking at JaVale McGee money. Check out the big pay day for the big man from Flint.

JaVale McGee is easily one of my favorite NBA players in the game today. Not only is he a Flint native, but he made a big difference in the playoffs when his Denver Nuggets played the LA Lakers after being known as one of the biggest knuckleheads in the NBA. Now that playoff performance has turned into big bucks for McGee.

The 24-year-old restricted free agent was offered a 5 year, $50 million dollar contract by the Nuggets early today. Due to being a restricted free agent, if any other team offers McGee more money, Denver has the right to outbid the team.

With the lack of quality centers in the NBA, it's not surprising to see McGee get paid big bucks. And he really has developed in Denver. When he was playing for the Washington Wizards, McGee was a low lights machine. He really was a one man blooper reel, but it seems like he's maturing as a player. He put up huge numbers in the playoffs for the Nuggets, averaging 8.6 points, 9.6 rebounds and 3.1 blocks per game.
