It appears that the the two bands are aiming to tour in Australia late in the year and have both released new details about their respective new albums.

In a new interview with a Mexican newspaper Jack Black mentioned a few new tidbits of info on the new record (which were not included in my story yesterday, sorry.). The album slated for late 2011 will be "dark" and is currently titled "The Rise of the Phoenix". Among the songs included will be one titled "Senorita" and probably the title track which they have already played live in the past (see video below). In addition to all this Black also stated that they will tour Australia with the Foo Fighters to support the release. Let's hope that tour comes through the states.

The Foo Fighters have finished recording their still untitled record which will be 11 songs in length. Dave Grohl promises;

"there's not one sleepy ballad...I don't even know what the single is going to be. It's hard to choose because it sounds like there's more than one."

The Foo are also teaming up with Fuse to give 11 aspiring filmmakers a shot at making a video for each of the songs with the "This Video Sucks" contest. All of the winners' videos will premiere on Fuse and for more info click here. Check out a brief 10-second clip of the Foo Fighters new track, "White Limo" by clicking here.
