The world of self-driving cars that deliver groceries to your home is becoming reality and not just something you'd see in a sci-fi movie.

Ford and Walmart have teamed up together to make this happen as they have plans to test a self-driving grocery delivery service in Florida.

According to ABC12, The pilot program in Florida's Miami-Dade County will incorporate Postmates, a logistics company that operates a network of couriers, to deliver groceries and more. The vehicles will collect data on consumer preferences to help the companies understand what people want.

To me, this really seems like a difficult service to make available to consumers. Obviously, they'll have to figure out what foods can be delivered, the distance from the store to the customers, whether or not there will be multiple stops on one trip, how to avoid people from stealing other people's groceries etc. Those are some of the things Ford and Walmart will work through over the next couple of months.

The good news for Walmart shoppers, you will no longer have to embarrass yourself by wearing your dirty and disgusting Spongebob Squarepants pajamas in public anymore. Well, at least at Walmart.
