What’s Going Into the Former Señor Lucky’s Building in Davison?
Back in early July, Davison's once-popular Mexican restaurant, Señor Lucky's, located on State Road, closed its doors for good. According to a note that was posted on the door, the owner was retiring after 30 years of serving the community.
While it's always disappointing to see a business close down, it does create opportunities for new possibilities. Those new possibilities are currently under construction in the Señor Lucky's former building. If you've driven by recently, you've probably noticed a lot of work going on. But what exactly is happening?
One Davison resident also noticed there was a lot happening in the former Mexican restaurant and posted about it on Facebook. Since it was shared in the Davison Area Community group, it exploded with comments and speculation about what was going to replace Señor Lucky's.
As usual on those neighborhood group pages, many of the comments were jokes, sarcasm, and, in some cases, rude. However, there were a few that stood out from people who claimed to know what was going into Señor Lucky's former home.
Facebook User:
I heard who owns Starlight bought Senor Lucky's in Davison and is turning it into a sports bar, just what I heard.
Others joined in to clarify that it was true, but it was going to be a bar and grill. Meanwhile, someone else clarified that it wasn't going to be a sports bar.
Someone also else claimed to know what was going on:
Facebook User:
I heard upscale cocktails and an elevated, regionally focused food menu! I’m not 100% sure on anything, but I know it will be great to have somewhere date-night-worthy in the area.
Someone else chimed in, sounding like they knew what was up.
Facebook User (Starlite owner):
Not even close! It will be great food and great atmosphere but for everyone! It will be a great addition to the Davison food landscape.
Of course, the conversation went back and forth for a while, but from what I gathered, the owners of Starlite are putting in a restaurant that will be great for the community. Again, that's just what I gathered from the conversation.
Hey, it sounds good to me. I love having another option to eat when I'm in Davison. We're looking forward to trying it out when they open.
