Four Michigan Natives Part of This Year’s Ally Challenge Celebrity Shootout
Michigan will be well represented on the course at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club during this year's Ally Challenge Celebrity Shootout.
Tournament Officials announced Thursday the line-up for the annual fan-favorite event at the year's tournament. This year will once again fans will see the legend, and golf’s greatest champion, Jack Nicklaus back for another round to benefit charity.
Joining Nicklaus this year will be four well-known Michiganders. Flint's own two-time Super Middleweight World Champion boxer Anthony Dirrell, and Detroit native, Jalen Rose. Rose is well as an ESPN analyst, 13-year NBA star, and member of the “Fab Five”.
Also joining the group will be 2014 first-round NHL Draft pick Detroit Red Wings Captain Dylan Larkin. Larkin is a native of Waterford, Michigan. In addition, golf fans will see Kim Moore, who won the inaugural United States Golf Association (USGA) Adaptive Open. Despite being born without a right foot and with a case of spina bifida, the Portage native grew up mastering multiple sports, including golf and basketball.
This year The Celebrity Shootout will take place on Saturday, August 27th just following the final pairing of round two of the Ally Challenge presented by McLaren. This year will see a new four-hole contest format at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club, playing Holes 10, 11, 17, & 18. The tournament will announce celebrity pairings, charitable impact, and the remaining field for the Celebrity Shootout soon.
The Ally Challenge presented by McLaren, in its fifth year, is an official event on the PGA TOUR Champions. The event not only showcases the best golf on the PGA TOUR Champions but also benefits local charities in the greater Flint area.
