Everyone always thinks they have to drive across the state to enjoy an awesome day at the beach. I mean, you can, but you definitely don't have to.

Look, if you want to have a beach day without spending half of it in the car, there are plenty of great options right here in Genesee County. In fact, some of them are probably closer than you think.

I know Michigan is loaded with incredible beaches, especially along the Great Lakes. Trust me, I love a road trip to the west side of the state as much as anyone. But sometimes all you need is a towel, a cooler, and a place to cool off for a few hours.
