Looking for a way to get rid of old electronics, hazardous waste, and many other hard to recycle items? Genesee County Recycle Day is here for you.

The Genesee County Metro Planning Commission holds a county wide recycling day once a quarter so residents can properly dispose of difficult items. Normally they will accept tires and appliances, but today's recycling event will not allow those items. You can find a complete list of what is accepted and not accepted below.

If you've dropped off items at a previous recycle day, you should know that things will look at little different than previous events. With Coronavirus concerns on everyone's minds, you are asked to stay in your car while dropping items off. The wait might be a little longer than the normal 15-30 minutes. It will all depend on how many people participate in the recycle day.

You can drop off your items today at Mott Community College from 2p-6p. The event is happening at MCC 156 Albert R. Horrigan Dr. Flint, 48503. You are asked to enter from Robert T, and follow the signs to get to the event.

If you have questions about specific items, you can ask on the GCMPC Facebook page, or call them at 810-257-3010. I know I'll be in line today to drop off a bunch of old paint cans, and broken computer stuff. If you see me behind my mask, make sure to not point out the excessive amount of junk I've been holding on to . . . thanks!
