Court Rules in Favor Of Former Fox 2 Detroit Anchor Taryn Asher’s Right-to-Work Case
Former FOX 2 news reporter Taryn Asher is now free to seek employment after a judge ruled in her favor over a non-compete clause.
A non-compete clause is part of an employment contract that says an employee cannot work for a competing company or start a competing business after leaving their job. For example, after she was let go at FOX 2, she could not immediately apply at WXYZ.

Not to say that’s her plan - again, this is just an example. That being said, according to Deadline Detroit, Taryn Asher does not want to leave Detroit.
Asher's agent, Mort Meisner, had this to say about the recent court ruling,
We're pleased that this matter is now off the table. Taryn has nearly 30 years of tremendous journalistic success and ratings success, and specifically at WJBK Fox 2. So we really see this as a victory because she has a family to support and this allows her the opportunity to get paid.
Chances are that you remember Taryn Asher from her days at ABC 12 in Flint. She worked at the Genesee County news station from 2000 to 2007. Asher is one of many news anchors who made the leap from Flint to Detroit.
