GM is ready to begin working on the new electric Silverado.

General Motors is adding another electric vehicle to the lineup with the Chevy Silverado electric pickup truck. According to General Motors' President Mark Reuss, the new trucks will be made at Factory Zero, which is the old Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant. Factory Zero will be exclusively producing electric vehicles for General Motors.

The new Chevy Silverado will be produced in Factory Zero along with the GMC HUMMER EV and the self-driving Cruise Origin. Production of these three vehicles will not immediately affect production at the Flint Assembly plant or any other facility.

We are selling every single Silverado and Sierra we can build, and we need those plants to stay focused on building those products and continuing to help GM dominate those truck segments...At the same time, the products that come out of Factory Zero will let us learn more about the EV market and what customers want," she continued. "Gauge the pace of customer adoption of EV vehicles including trucks, and help us learn more about producing EV products of this size and complexity so we can be prepared to expand to additional EV truck production in the future...said General Motors Spokersperson Megan Soule.

These are the first of many electric vehicles that you will see from the General Motors' brand. The company is looking to bring forth 30 electric vehicles by 2025 from Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac, and GMC.

I'm actually a big fan of these new electric vehicles. They are so much fun to drive. I test drove a Chevy Bolt a few weeks back and you can put the hammer down and beat almost anyone off the line.
