Coming straight off the mean streets of Grand Blanc, Michigan, Geena Gall has taken another step towards a gold medal, as she advanced in the women's 800-meter.  Check out the details on when the pride of the Bobcats races for glory. 


It happened early this morning, but Grand Blanc native and Michigan graduate Geena Gall advanced to the semifinals in the women's 800-meter in the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.  Gall fought for one of the final spots in the semifinals, finishing with a time of 2:03.85 which was fast enough to advance the next round.

She'll be running against 23 other women in the next round and needs to place in the top 8 to advance to the medal round.  The semifinal race will be on Thursday at 2:30 local time.
