Despite saying years ago that they would never reunite "in this lifetime," original Guns N' Roses members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan have been sharing stages around the world together since 2016 for the Not In This Lifetime Tour.

Missing from the original lineup were drummer Steven Adler, who made a few appearances throughout the beginning of the tour to play some Appetite for Destruction tracks, and guitarist Izzy Stradlin. According to McKagan in a recent interview with Colorado's 92.9 The Bear, GN'R tried to bring Stradlin back at first, but "it just didn't work out."

"That is something that we tried to make happen at the beginning," the bassist says. "It just didn't work out." Listen to the full audio below.

Stradlin has made several comments on the matter since 2016, citing that the band "didn't want to split the loot equally," and that his absence from the tour was due to him "simply not being able to reach a happy middle ground through the negotiation process."

The band racked in quite a bit of "loot" from the tour, which lasted from April of 2016 to December of 2018 and is now the second-highest grossing tour of all time, weighing in at $563.3 million. Following their final show in 2018. The band's website said, "We are not done yet...shits just getting started."

As of now, Guns N' Roses' only two announced performances for 2019 are in the fall for festivals, including Louder than Life. The members are also dropping extremely subtle hints about their whereabouts in the recording process for a new album.
