Hershey's chocolate beer will once again be available this fall/winter in stores and in bars. Unfortunately, like last year, this strange combination will not be available in Michigan...for now anyway.

The reason I say it's not available in Michigan yet is because the beer is made by Yuengling and as we all know Yuengling isn't available in Michigan. Although if the rumors are true, the forbidden fruit of beer will finally be on Michigan shelves in the second half of 2021.

Chocolate and beer are two of life’s greatest pleasures, however, combining the two seems like blasphemy to me or simply just gross. It just doesn't sound like a great combo to me but it must be because it's returning after first being introduced in 2019. I think the reason I wouldn't like chocolate beer is because I'm not a fan of eating anything sweet while drinking beer.

According to Simplemost, the porter has an ABV of 4.7% and clocks in at 180 calories per serving. The brewery says it pairs well with barbecue, cheese and chocolate.

Ernie Savo, senior director of global licensing and business development at The Hershey Company:

This Yuengling Hershey’s Chocolate Porter is sure to surprise and delight the chocolate fans, and the avid-beer lovers, among us that are looking to try something new and delicious. Bringing together over 300 years of craft and experience is quite rare, however, that’s exactly what we did.
