4 Killed, Including 2 Children, in Horrific I-75 Crash in Oakland County

A devastating crash on I-75 in northern Oakland County Wednesday night left four people dead, including two children.

According to WDIV, the crash happened just after 9 p.m. on southbound I-75 near Grange Hall Road.

The victims were a 23-year-old woman, a 24-year-old man, and two young children from Pontiac. According to Michigan State Police, the four victims were all members of the same family.

I can’t even imagine how terrifying those final moments must have been.

It had to be a gut-wrenching scene, and one that will probably haunt the first responders who were there for the rest of their lives.

The family’s Chrysler 300 was disabled on the side of the freeway when it was hit by a truck.

Every time I see a car sitting on the side of the road, I think about this exact scenario.

Your life can change in an instant if just one distracted driver comes flying by and doesn’t realize you’re there.

It’s already stressful enough being stuck on the side of a busy highway. Add traffic flying by at 70-plus miles an hour, and it becomes extremely dangerous.

Michigan State Police Say Charges Are Pending

The truck driver was also injured in the crash, taken to the hospital, and later taken into custody. Charges are pending.

There are still so many unanswered questions, including why the car was disabled in the first place, what caused the truck driver to hit the family, and whether everyone in that family was in the car last night.

Police are continuing to investigate, and I have a feeling we’ll learn a lot more about what happened in the coming days.
